Story · A royal tomb with a name on it
History
The tomb of Kim Chun-chu, King Taejong Muyeol (r. 654–661). The capstone of the stele in front bears the words “Stele of the Great King Taejong Muyeol”, making it one of the few royal tombs in Gyeongju whose occupant is certain.
Legend
Kim Yu-sin’s sister Bohui dreamed that she climbed the western hill and her urine flooded the whole capital; her younger sister Munhui bought the dream for a silk skirt. Ten days later Yu-sin, playing ball, trod on Kim Chun-chu’s coat string on purpose and tore it off. Munhui sewed it back on, and she and Chun-chu were wed, the story goes.
