Kim Al-ji

History

He never ruled himself, but his descendant Michu became the first Kim king, and most of Silla’s later kings were Kims.

Legend

In King Talhae’s reign a golden chest was found hanging from a branch in Gyerim grove with a white rooster crowing below, and he was the child inside. Because he came from a golden (金, gim) chest, he was given the surname Kim, it is said.
